RiverStone Dog Park Now Open!
Please Note: during wet, rainy days, the park may be temporarily closed to help protect the grass.
The park was closed temporarily in April due to wet, muddy and slippery conditions. The popularity of this park, coupled with last summer's heat and this past winter's level of precipitation, overwhelmed the new grass. Since that time, a hardier space has been provided to better withstand with the intensity of use the park is seeing as well as incorporate some of the requests received from park users.
These Updates Include:
Construction is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. Some additional time will be required for the sod and seed to establish, and the park is anticipated to begin reopening in stages in early August. Areas that need additional establishment time will be fenced off while other areas will be accessible.
In the meantime, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the city's other off-leash areas at Scenic Drive South, Peenaquim Park, and Popson Park. Residents are also reminded that dogs are required to be on a leash unless in designated off-leash areas.
RiverStone Dog Park - a fenced off-leash park for dogs. Located at the southernmost entrance to RiverStone, at the corner of University Drive West and Riverglen Link West, the park has 2.77 acres of which approximately two acres are a fenced off-leash area.
